Success comes to those who dare and seldom goes to the timid.
Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru
This quote always comes to my mind - one of my favorites - someone put this in my autograph
- way back in school.
At present I’m a technical writer - having a
great career growth!
I have three
cars and planning on my fourth.
A couple
of years back - I was just a homemaker - who managed the kids, the home, the pretty garden - which even won a prize at the
city's garden competition and the sole driver for the family's Maruti 800 car!
And way before
that I was an Army Lieutenant in the Military Nursing service - those days were filled with work and fun, and more WORK. That
was a period and TIME, so unique -and so different from the present!
I was just six
months into the 'army college life' at College of Nursing, AFMC Pune, when we
had the scare of our lives - the Pakistani Air Force (PAF) struck a number of Indian airfields in northern India -that was in December 1971. By midnight, India was officially at war with Pakistan.
Two weeks later, the war was over, but all the military hospitals were filled with injured jawans. The Pune Command Hospital
got more patients than it could hold, because of its rehabilitation centre. It was hectic 'work and study' for weeks
on end - that went on for all four years of my training - but we never ever grudged it.
That was discipline
and the army way of life!
'WORK and FUN'
have been a constant all my life.
I hardly miss an
opporutunity - when it comes to the outdoors! As a result of which, I've been to various treks in and around Bangalore.
Some have been amazing, like the moonlight trek on the vast expanse of sheer rock - at Savandurga!
I also love attending
concerts and musical events.
I keep oraganizing and conducting various games
and events for everyone all the time. From volleyball, throwball, badminton and table tennis matches, to dumb chardes, music
events and seminars!
